Mary Sherwood in the parish

Mary Sherwood, our missionary who works with children in Madagascar will be visiting the parish on the weekend of Feb. 11-12! There will be a parish pot-luck on Sat. Feb. 11
at 5pm to welcome Mary and learn about her ministry.


Lenten Study

Coming up in Lent: A 5-week study of “The Prodigal God: Recovering the Heart of the Christian Faith” by Timothy Keller. The sessions will involve viewing video segments and discussions. The series starts Feb. 29 at 7:30pm at St. James’. Participants’ books cost $13 and the deadline for registering is Feb. 20 so that sufficient copies may be ordered

Ash Wednesday activities

St. James’ will be holding Ash Wednesday activities on Wednesday, February 22. It will be a day of games, crafts, singing, learning, food, and lots of fun. The day is open to all children from Junior Kindergarten through grade 12. Registration forms will soon be available. Please bring a food item to be donated to the Food Bank. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. and the day will end at 3:15 p.m.

Chris & Shayna - Ugandan Maternity Ward project

St. James member Chris Marshal and his spouse Shayna Campbell are currently in Uganda on a mission and are attempting to raise funds to complete a hospital maternity ward which is built but not yet functional. They are hoping to raise $23,500. The project has recently been authorized by the Canadian based Stephen Lewis Foundation, meaning donations can be tax deductible. Food Bank Drop-off

Please don’t forget the Food Bank drop-off container at the back of both St. James and St. Johns. The Food Bank is always in need of non-perishables and appreciates your support.


Meals on Wheels needs volunteer drivers
